For your books, I recommend "The Dark is Rising" series by Susan Cooper. They're fantasy, but very rooted in Celtic and Arthurian legends. Admittedly they are older children's books, but they're still very good, very atmospheric.

I should rephrase - they are books for older children/YA. Similar to Narnia, maybe a wee bit older. (Just realized my comment was ambiguous)

I loved those so much when I was a kid. And still now.
