Okay...I kinda don't know how to ask this so I'm just going to...and can you explain like I'm 5?

what does it matter if someone is pro-Palestine or pro-Israel?

it seems to be a big thing to care about in America (didn't Javier Bardem get threatened with blacklisting from a producer for signing a letter condemning Israel's actions?) but I don't get why it's such a big thing to be one way or the other.

I read a comment from a producer saying that as the grandson of a Holocaust survivor he was never going to work with Bardem again because he was critical of Israel...it's really that big of an issue?

It evidently is to that guy. Many people equate being critical of Israel with being against the state's right to exist.

It's not a big deal - at least, not to the extent that it's made out to be. The whole issue is being used as a smokescreen to mask more pressing issues.
