I guess it depends on how you define "mature". If 90% of adults are the same in a certain way, I'd argue they're mature in that way since that's apparently how adult humans are. "Mature" doesn't mean philosophical or righteous or serious or prudent - it means "exhibiting the characteristics typical of an adult".

Different terminology but we're in agreement about that. But people use "mature" to mean calm, serious, rational and not self-centered and ho boy are adults - or people as a whole - not generally so.
