I feel like this is perpetuated by people who have only been in the men's room.

I used to be a cashier and one of my duties was to clean the bathrooms before closing up. The men's and women's rooms were about the same on average, maybe the men's room was a little grosser on average, but not that much. In general the men's room had some messes almost daily, and the women's room was more likely to be very clean, but when there was a mess in there, it was a MESS.

I cleaned up a lot of shit (literal and figurative) but I refused to open the canister with blood all over the inside and clean that out. I was making minimum wage and I was not getting paid enough for that.

I worked in a fast food joint a few years ago, that was basically my experience, too. On average, the men's room was messier than the women's room, but when there was something particularly bad in the ladies room, it was BAD.

Yeah, the service jobs I've done were about like that too. The thing that made the mens' dirty was the urinals. There's always piss on the wall and you have to wash the walls. Otherwise, it wasn't that much worse than the ladies.
