As the others have said, introverts exist.

Introverts still love others, but being around people drains them.

Just like extroverts thrive off being in someone's company.

Someone like the OP's girlfriend would despise being "ignored", as she would feel being around me when I'm relaxing (because I'm usually engrossed in a book, or a game, or while writing something or trying to do a translation).

I'm female and an extrovert, and usually I'm receptive to being a sounding board for people who are anxious and depressed, but OP's girlfriend sounds exhausting to be around even for me.
