Well, I'm not exactly new, I used to come here all the time, then didn't for a while- started working the overnight shift, so when the posts went live I was at work, and when I got around to them everything was already dead, but now that I no longer work that shift I can stop by a little more often. So maybe I'll help.

But I'd really hate to see this place go the way of tumblr. 15-year-old SJWs probably aren't really the new blood you want.

All online communities have their reasonable users and their obnoxious users. I'd hate to see the worst of tumblr here almost as much as I'd hate to see the worst of reddit here, but where else are you gonna recruit? Twitter, maybe? Whatever DW/LJ communities still survive?

Sorry if that came off as confrontational. I just genuinely don't know what kind of a space would be best to advertize in to try to attract the most reasonable new contributors.

Nah, it's cool, you weren't confrontational. I was just cranky because I just got done having an argument with a teenage "anti-shipper" on tumblr who was sending me messages like a damn spambot. :|

As far as your question, unfortunately, I don't know either. Maybe FFA?

Honestly, try to recruit to tumblr, most people would read the comments and run tbh. & how would we foster new discussion if everyone agrees?

FS survived the SJWs back on LJ just fine, despite how nasty things sometimes got. If the tumblr crowd does ever come I wouldn't worry too much.
