straight, gay, bi/pan, a/none

i believe demi et al are real things, but not 'sexualities' and more like descriptors added to the above bases. a demi'sexual' bi person is attracted to anyone they are emotionally connected to, a demi'sexual' gay person is only attracted to same gender people they are connected to and whatnot

i differentiate because i don't think anybody is only demisexual alone by itself and if they are, it's shorthand for demi-bi/pansexual

and there are as many ways to be 'something else' as there are ways to be a man or a woman

I agree with this. I believe they're real things, but they're supplementary to orientations.

yup when people say demi-ness is not a real thing it's stupid because obviously it's a real thing and how some people approach sex and relationships and attraction

is it a sexuality unique to itself is a better question and that one is usually no, demi is a more of a style in which an orientation is approached, which is just as legitimate as any other sexual style

I always feel bad for groups/identities that get made fun of because of tumblr. I mean yeah people on tumblr act like idiots about things, but it just seems mean to make fun of a person who's totally cool about it because of them.

Also I've been in a position like that, with people accusing me of being self diagnosed when I just mention my disability and act like just saying you have it is an invitation to mock you. It's frustrating.

I'm autochorissexual, and I think this seems fair. I generally tell people I'm "a type of asexual," and then if they seem interested I'll get a bit more specific about what kind of ace I am.
