Re: What sexualities and gender identites do you believe exist?
(Anonymous) 2016-03-05 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)At this point I think every type of sexuality or gender identity you can possibly imagine probably exists somewhere, the question is just whether the more rare ones (or ones that are really just subsets of others) need their own names. On one hand, it might sound kind of silly/pointless to people who don't identify with that label, but ultimately, if it makes someone feel better about who they are or makes them feel less alone, I don't really see the harm in it.

I wish more people could get this. I mean it feels like it's cool to laugh at those "silly tumblr folks and their labels" but honestly if someone is just using a label to make themselves not feel alone or "broken" I don't see the point in trying to ruin that for them other than just being a dick.
Re: What sexualities and gender identites do you believe exist?
(Anonymous) 2016-03-05 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)I agree, so long as those people aren't using their label as an excuse to be a dick, or as justification in being a dick because they've labeled themselves a victim
Re: What sexualities and gender identites do you believe exist?
(Anonymous) 2016-03-05 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)I should have mentioned that but I normally consider "so long as they aren't hurting anyone with it" to be a given.
