Watchmen

I just rewatched this and personally I think it's a good movie. Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach is flawless casting, imo.

Ooo, I liked the Watchmen film too. (Even bought the ultimate edition.)

The only thing I truly object to is the ending; wish they hadn't changed bits of that, but I still find it to be a good adaption. The cast was amazing.

ayrt

I read the comic a while ago, and can't actually remember how the end differs from the movie!

The whole cast really was great. I've been shipping the hell out of Nite Owl/Rorschach recently, and there's a surprising amount of good fic for that pairing.

Well, the end isn't totally different, so it isn't a disgrace to the comic or anything like that, it's just small things I have issue with. I don't like the way the Doctor Manhattan ending scenario played out, for one. (I don't want to say too much because spoilers.)

The cast was maybe the best thing about the film. They did an excellent job.

I must confess I'm not a big shipper when it comes to Watchmen, but I did love Dan and Rorschach's relationship. Not in the shippy sense, but they were still great together. I'm glad people appreciate them.

spoiler warning for the watchmen comic

ozymandias uses a fake squid alien to destroy new york, and this causes world peace or something

except rorschach's journal survived so maybe not

the end.

I liked it a lot. I'd have liked it more if it wasn't the super censored TBS version. I'm not familiar with the comic though.

Haley WAS flawless as Rorschach. And surprisingly, an adorable sweetie of a man in real life!

I also think it's good. Not amazing, but a good adaptation of a dense, complicated comic.

This movie was freaking fantastic. The change to the ending was ok, not great but ok, but the whole movie was like a perfect adaptation.
