Doesn't gen mean no pairings at all, though? It sounds like they still want pairings, just not sexual ones. That could actually be hard to find, depending on the fandom.

Most fandoms I've been in have tons and tons of fluffy fics for every ship (now, if it's a small fandom finding any fic at all would be a lot harder in general), where the most they do is kiss. Hell, in the big anime fandoms there are even quite a few doujinshi where the characters only cuddle/hold hands/kiss (do admit that it's a lot harder to find those for hetero ships for some reason).

Now finding stuff without kissing would probably be harder, I admit. But not completely impossible at least in big fandoms.
