I know it can seem like shipping revolves solely around sex in most fandoms (and a lot of the time, it does), but you can ship people just as platonic friends or romantic partners

Yes, there will probably be other fans who say 'If they are together and so close, they must have sex eventually, or they're not a normal couple' or whatever, just like people do with real life asexuals, but there are tons of people who love reading about their OTPs just hanging out and doing normal things

It might just take a while to find them, is all

That's not how most people define "shipping", though. I know people in my fandom who would get pretty pissed off if you advertised your friendship fic as a ship fic and it turned out to be "merely" gen/friendship.
