Just about anything you can hold in your hand can be used as a weapon.

The real trick is psyching yourself up to do harm to someone.

Training, training, training. The military spends a a great deal of time, money, and manpower teaching potential recruits not to flinch before hitting someone. Hell, that is half of what sparring is when teaching boxing, just teaching the kid to hit another human being without worrying about it. Unless you have a dyed in the wool sociopath or psychopath, then unless you've put in a lot of hours training in hurting another human being a weapon is useless. If you have put in the training, they won't worry about needing a weapon, and probably won't look like a target either.

Errrrrr not really, adrenaline/flight-or-fight does wonders when it comes to becoming violent in an emergency.

Being EFFECTIVELY violent is a different story...
