This Hellblazer fan enjoyed the hell out of it. Was it a perfectly faithful adaptation? Absolutely not. Was it a decent (and more importantly, fun) one? Damn straight.

Same here. Loved the comic back in the day, loved the show and miss it.

It was faithful enough, IMO.

The only complaint I could make that wasn't pure nitpick or wishful thinking is Chaz...and...I actually liked that, so I wouldn't complain.

(Well...I do have ONE substantive complaint...that was an assholish way to end the season when they knew renewal was unlikely.)

Chas, the fact that the show was set in the US (yeah, there was That One Arc, but the comics made a point of being primarily set in Britain), a few other points. But the show was faithful in spirit, which is imo a lot more important, especially when we're talking about adaptation for a mainstream audience - Vertigo could pull a lot of shit that a standard network show absolutely can't.

I wasn't really complaining about the show not being entirely faithful, though. It's just the biggest complaint I've heard about it from other fans, most of whom wouldn't be happy with anything less than a frame-by-frame workup.

I didn't think you were...just jumping off your comment into my own rant on the topic.
