In the future, I think I will ask for any relevant TWs to be included in a rec. You should definitely not consider them conclusive and do some research yourself, but it would be a nice piece of info to have nonetheless.

It didn't occur to me that any of the books had been read by the nominators beforehand. I assumed we were all nominating books we were intending to read one day.

I think it's definitely possible to be aware of potential triggers in a book you haven't read, especially if you've researched it enough to rec it.

Of course something unexpected might come up, but it doesn't hurt to share any info you do have.
