Gripes, complaints, stuff you're sick with, whatever

[personal profile] sachiko_san 2016-03-10 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
So I got what felt like a normal cold on Friday night/Saturday, but the sore throat wouldn't go away, then last night, my tonsils began to hurt so much and my eyes got a all red and they watered so much when I was asleep, they were all crusty (nasty, I know). I was able to see a doctor and while I get I got tonsillitis because I got sick from my mom when she helped me when I had my splint on, I somehow got pink eye as well last night, which I really don't get. I caught them early enough though and have my antibiotics. I just have to avoid sugar and milk, which sucks because tea with honey is my sore throat go to.

I had a huge booger super far up my nose that was causing quite the discomfort until I was able to dislodge it. I should drink more water.

Bernie's coming to my town tomorrow and I can't freaking go because I had to have a test on that day. My teacher has to be a republican.

I've been really tired lately. When I hot home from work today, I loaded sheets into the washer, but after that I fell asleep on the couch and now it's middle of the night. Will need to re-wash them.

Why do you need to re-wash them?

Uh, mildew? Gross.

Unless the anon lives somewhere that's very hot, mildew isn't going to be a huge concern after only a few hours. A few days, maybe.

Do you usually get mildew on your stuff if it's been wet for just a few hours, anon?

Because risk for mildew and that tge laundry room is set up between two other apartments, so it would disturb the other tennants if I were to tumbledry them. It's past midnight here.

ah, makes more sense if you can't dry them right now. that sucks :/ laundry is annoying enough as it is.

If it's only been a few hours, they're unlikely to be musty in that short amount of time. Just pop them in the dryer.

Can't do that. I live in an apartment building with the communal laundry room between two apartments and it's past midnight here. I've hung them for now.

Why not just leave them to hang dry?

I have hung them. Don't know if they will be dry before I've got to leave for work in a few hours and I don't have the room to hang them in my apartment. Had to leave them in the laundry room.

Need to sleep, as I'm supposed to get out of bed three hours from now. Not much luck yet, though. :(

I don't know who's more obnoxious, the pathologist I work with when I'm in location A or the co-worker I have to deal with in location B. They both act like my boss, which is way more obnoxious with the latter since she is literally equal to me in job title and standing, but also annoying with the former who is additionally ridiculously high-maintenance and kind of socially clueless. I think I like him more as a person but he might be more annoying to work with.

My friends are organizing a movie night tomorrow and they want to see 10 Cloverfield Lane but I cannot do horror movies, especially when I'm paying $12 for a ticket.

It is also very nauseating because of the hand held camera, so stay at home.

But we're going out before AND after (and to my favorite karaoke place!) I think I may either see if there's another movie at the same time I want to see, or just hang out at a bar with a book in the meantime.

My stomach has been acting up for over a week now, and I'm so over it.
Then today I made the mistake of drinking some coffee in a vain attempt to be more awake, and that made me jittery, nauseous, and feeling like shit in general -_-

I've had this weird breathing problem since sometime in December. I also had a cough and several people I knew had colds or bronchitis, so I went to the doctor. He told me he couldn't see or hear anything wrong and it was probably anxiety. I do have trouble with that at times, so my therapist recommended some exercises and when I'm able to do them they help. The weird thing is: I still have a cough. It's pretty mild, but it's March and it started in early January at the latest. So now I'm wondering if my breathing problems are causing my cough.

There's been a mosquito in my house for the past few days and I have like 50 bites from it all over my body. It just flew past me a couple minutes ago but by the time I grabbed something to kill it with I lost track of it.

I wanna murder that little fucker.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but if it's that many bites it's definitely more than one mosquito. Otherwise it probably would've exploded by now.

I have TMJ. Stupid pain doc won't do the nerve block on it, so I have two choices: muscle relaxant (which makes me stupid and sleepy and I really can't take them at work anyway) or pain.

I feel awful saying this, but I'm sick of my mom. She's got terminal cancer, but she just came back from a week in Hawaii and immediately went on a bender. I've got school or work every day of the week and it's midterm time, so missing school is not an option and I didn't realise how quickly she went down the tubes over the weekend, and it got really bad yesterday. I've been pouring out bottles whenever I find them and this morning I took her wallet, keys, and phone (she has a dealer who's been calling), then locked all the gates and the other house on the property so she couldn't go get more booze, moved her car so she couldn't buy another set of car keys like last time, and left for school. She broke out through the one gate that can't be totally secured, paid for a big bottle with pennies, and chugged it on her way home. She left her old dog out in the yard, and the poor thing got stuck in a thorny thicket. So I got home, my mom wasn't there, and there was frantic pained yelping coming from the bushes. I untangled the dog, fed her (I had to buy dog food on the way home since mom hasn't fed her in days, I've been making the dog poached eggs because I didn't have time to shop), and mom came home and demanded to be let in. I was so tempted to leave her on the street. The dog's all scratched up and so am I. I got milk and meds into my mom, yelled at her, tried to get more liquid into her, and watched her pour it all over herself. I hope she doesn't die overnight; she always manages to be just sober enough to tell the EMTs to fuck off if I call. And now I've got homework. The temptation to turn this rant in in place of the working bibliography and thesis, short stories, and short story review responses that're due tomorrow is overwhelming. But this kind of shit happens every semester, and I can't keep blaming her for my inability to handle all my responsibilities. I should just let her drink herself to death and empty her bank account to pay for opiates and valium in the meantime, but I'm not strong enough to deal with losing my last remaining family. She was actually the good parent. But watching the one commit suicide didn't prepare me to lose the other one.

Fuck. This is rough. You sound like a bamf just for dealing with it (and still managing to take classes!).

I don't have any advice for you, because your experience is way beyond anything I've had to deal with in my life. I guess just try to remember that no matter what, you're very strong for having handled as much as you already have. And if there's anything you can do that will allow you to put yourself and your needs first, you should feel 100% justified in doing it, no matter what the means for your mom.

And try to remember to be compassionate with yourself. It sounds like you've had a life where your needs and wants haven't been met very much, and I think that kind of life can make people feel like the best way to be is to be as hard and as spare as a stone. It can make people really ruthless with themselves. But you deserve more than that. One day you will get through this and reach a point where your burden is greatly lessened, and if you can be compassionate with yourself and be protective of the parts of you that want good things for yourself, you'll be able to grow far above and beyond all of this, given time.
