I think Stone should be given another chance because people change and all that (I mean, what happened was shitty but it seems like overkill for her to be blacklisted and shamed until the end of time for it. Move on, folks), but how was what happened an accident beyond her control? It seemed like she was the one who screwed up there

DA

Yeah, especially as it wasn't the first time she'd cut and run. She let her fans think she'd fucking died, and she dropped her publisher in the shit after they took a chance on her, with no fucking explanation.

Wait, she did?

Like did she actually say anything to lead them to that? Or did she just disappear and stop posting for a while?

AYRT

She was hyper-engaged with her fandom up to that point, and a lot of them were pretty young as far as I could tell. Completely noping out of the fandom - her day job iirc - was enough to make people worry a bit, but by the time it had been months, and with the publishers refusing to say anything, it basically took until her showing up on other projects for some of her more vehement defenders to believe she was safe. It was a total dick move. Anxiety or not, she should have got somebody to just post a quick little note to her DA and homepage saying she was okay, but wouldn't be posting again for a while.
