Don't a lot of webcomics get discontinued? Can someone elaborate why this artist gets so much hate for it?

I think her comic was in the midst of being published, with a lot of pre-orders involved, till she suddenly disappeared and never really offered an explanation and left the publisher in hot water trying to fix everything. That's what I heard anyway.

Yeah, I wasn't around until after the comic stopped updating, but I got the impression that most of the anger was not for dropping Hanna, that was just disappointment. The ANGER I think came from the lack of explanation for anything that happened afterwards.

She built a pretty solid fanbase and her deviantart page had lots of art for future parts of the series. It was the sort of thing that got you really invested in how amazing things could get.

Towards the end she was selling the first volume of the webcomic through a small publisher. There were a bunch of problems with production and distribution. The fandom got a bit nutty and Stone just cut all communication. No warning on the webcomic page, no more posts on her deviantart.

I can see why OP would be reluctant to get too invested in any of her future work in case something like this happens again. It's not a blacklist worthy offense by any means though.

I am curious, what is a blacklist worthy offense to you, if not scamming?

It's not scamming. The production company did intend to distribute the comic but the orders for HINABN was far greater than any of their other properties. I ordered and received the comic and poster I bought. The comic was just delayed in shipping by a month.
