It feels like their bailing out of the triple-A market and focusing on cell phone games, though, just like everyone else. Look at Konami. And Square is kinda falling apart/going for the cell market lately. Nintendo are the only ones making money anymore. The Japan games industry is in shambles.

Moe crap is all we see in the West because most anime is moe crap. It's not news that animators are increasingly pandering to the moe market because it's a guaranteed sell and very difficult to make anime profitable. Of course, that narrows their market even further and causes the whole death spiral anime is in right now.

How idiotic. Anime is just a form of media like live action television, movies, comic books. But of course you know that, and you're just trying to stir up shit. This is like posting a photo of a Nickelback CD case and saying how you can't understand why music is still popular.

You'd have to be blind not to recognize that there are a lot of specific cultural trends relating specifically to anime. Look, anime is considered niche and nerdy in Japan, and aside from certain mainstream childrens' shows like One Piece or Miyazaki films, people generally don't admit to liking it because most people think it's childish crap for basement-dwelling losers. While there are exceptions and more avante-garde anime out there, most of it is either childrens' entertainment or moeshit. This is a fact.

Look at Japanese live-action TV and film if you want to see what normal Japanese people watch. The difference is striking.
