I think really the "transphobic" part OP is referring to is the simultaneous attraction to transmen and erasure of their identity as transmen.

Ah, okay, that's totally transphobic. They are men, and denying that is wrong. I just had trouble understanding the secret. Too many words. I missed that bit completely.

DA

I thought the same thing. Being a lesbian who isn't into women with penises is up to them, that's the same thing as lesbians who aren't into short girls or tall girls or redheads or whatever. Saying you're into trans men but you're still a lesbian i.e. woman who likes women is edging into that transphobia territory

I disagree strongly.

I think "lesbian" is usually a broad enough term to include women who are vagina-sexual. They're not "pansexual," & they're not quite conventionally "bisexual."

You don't really have to cash in your Lez card because this particular person is a trans man and not just a super-butch dyke.

Nobody is saying to cash in your Lez card, that is an overreactive exaggeration.

'I am a lesbian but will make an exception for trans men' is not the same as 'I am a lesbian and see no reason why liking trans men would make me any less of a lesbian or confuse anyone b/c vagina' with all its transphobic undertones including the assumption that all trans men still have vaginas even
