I take it you were a shipper? The "right all along" attitude is actually one thing I don't miss about the H/Hr fandom. There is no right and wrong in shipping. There really was this attitude in the fandom that Harry/Hermione was an objectively better pairing and writing anything else was wrong. And that just isn't the way things work. I don't like Ron/Hermione. I hate the dynamic. But I've stopped judging other people for liking it and I'm okay with canon being what it is. Canon is canon and you can't change that and fanon is fanon and people should enjoy what they want without trying to ruin other people's enjoyment.

Also, that isn't even what she said. She said at one point that something could have happened between Harry and Hermione in book 7. And at another point she said Ron/Hermione was wish fulfillment for her and that they may have to go through some therapy to work their marriage out. Lots of couples go to couples therapy. She never actually said that she should have written Harry/Hermione. And canon is still what it is.
