I'm not Asian so I can't speak for them, but as a Non-White person, I will say that I don't like racial flip flops in either direction. I want original characters that look like me. I don't want characters to move from one medium to another and get a brown coat of paint for diversity points. I don't want white sloppy seconds. I also want my favorite characters to be represented faithfully on screen, and that includes their ethnic and racial backgrounds.
