The 2004 Lloyd-Webber Phantom of the Opera. No, he didn't grow up at the Opera. He helped build the damn place. Also, he could sing; he wasn't a pack-a-day smoking Scottsman. Also also, he was ugly. Christine wasn't a sixteen year-old with a tiny popera voice. And did Raoul treat Christine to a lovely meal of roasted carriage horse, since they set the movie during the one year when Paris was under seige and everyone was starving? (And ffs, someone cut Raoul's hair.)

I'd argue that the musical has nothing to do with how the movie turned out, but then I tend not to know anything about Andrew Lloyd Webber.
