Elrond is one of those characters I can't read in sexual situations. I feel the same about Rupert Giles from Buffy. It is that he reads as a paternal figure to me and I can't personally combine that with wanting to read about him having sex.

Nope. Giles reminds me a bit of my father. It's just very much a no thing for me. I like him with Jenny, but not in a sexual way.

I ... am actually the same. I hadn't realised this, I thought I shipped him with more people, but no. Elrond/Celebrian or Elrond/Thranduil. All the other fic I want to read with him is people giving him the hugs he clearly needs and deserves.

idk, I ship him with many characters. To me fictional marriage is just a bump on the way of shipping.

I actually had a harder time shipping him with Celebrian. I used to read a ton of Elrond/Legolas back when LOTR was coming out. He's basically my fandom bicycle.

Ehh, I shipped him with almost everyone except Thranduil back in the day, though we didn't have an onscreen version of Thranduil back then, but we didn't have Erestor or Glorfindel either. Probably my two biggest ships for Elrond were Gil-Galad and Elros.

Mmmmh, Elrond. I ship him with pretty much everyone, I guess. And as much as I hate infidelity fics, somehow that doesn't bother me at all with Tolkien elves.
