I didn't really forgive Pearl until her mech battle with Peridot. That was her big "Look how much she's grown!" moment. I still expect her to backslide at times, but I don't think she'll do anything quite as bad as when she rebuilt the signal.

To be fair she wasn't actually rebuilding the signal, she just made it seem that way to trick the others. Even Pearl isn't so crazy she'd put the entire planet in danger because of her fixations.

I hate Connie and Stevonnie. No other characters. I don't feel obligated to explain why.

I do, too, but I have no problem explaining why: they're pushing the romance thing way, way too hard, and it's irritating. I'd rather they remained platonic friends because I'm tired of the "males and females can't be friends without it turning romantic" trope. Friendship is an important form of love and can be just as strong as romantic love, sometimes even stronger. But tv show creators are notorious for having zero self control when it comes to males and females remaining platonic friends. It's always gotta be about coupling, and I'm sick to death of it. Let them be Kids FFS; they have the rest of their entire lives to do that whole mating dance thing, JFC.

Connie is the only member of the core cast who doesn't have a story separate from Steven. All of the Crystal Gems plus Greg have their own narrative thread that they're the center of, and all the Gems continue that thread into the present day. Connie has dreams and ambitions beyond Steven, but her involvement in the plot all relates back to him, and that worries me a little.

I'm not sure if she's my favorite, but I do really love how complex Pearl is.

I also like that she initially starts as 'The Best Mom' since she's always fussing over Steven and doing the housework and acting like we expect a mother character to act. And then that's slowly deconstructed and we see how complex and how much more morally gray her character is, without making her flat out Mother Gothel evil.

I think that's one of the reasons people are so polarized on her, we're used to Perfect Goddess Mother Figure or Evil Disney Stepmom Figure and not someone who sometimes does the wrong things for the right reasons and sometimes does the right things for the wrong reasons.
