(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 02:04 am (UTC)(link)It's okay to be scared of running out of money. I'm just saying there are legit reasons not to quit a job.
Re: What should (we) do, FS?
(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 04:16 am (UTC)(link)In alot of media, there tends to be a "rah, rah, quit and pursue your dreams" storyline which can be taken as "you're worthless if you don't risk it all on a crazy scheme."
Can you save money towards living expenses? Find a field you're interested in and research it? Ask friends or family about job opportunities in some other field?
You're not wrong to stay at a job. But if it's hurting you in those ways, then yes, maybe start doing some research. Even if it's one tiny thing every day or so to help yourself find options.
I hate to see people stuck in jobs that are hurting them. I know there aren't always options. But there might be options.
It's not wrong to feel trapped. It's not wrong to keep your job till there's something better in store. Think about your life and how you can improve this one situation with research, planning, asking for help, etc.
I wish you well.
