tbf, doesn't the lack of accountability thing describe a lot of cop shows? (I mean, not all of them; southland, for example, was good most of the time at showing realistic consequences for fucking up on duty). I don't think it makes you a bad feminist...at worst, I think it just means that you're expecting too much from cop shows

Eh, okay, have fun. Of course it's not true to life, it isn't life. It's not like there aren't parallels, but the fact that the basis is about animal relationships and not human ones means it's not going to fit perfectly. The messages it presents are still mostly sound.

I can understand feeling resentful about that. Worrying about fandom cliques is such a dumb thing, they always disappear after the fandom's heydey ends. It's a ridiculous thing to hurt a friend over.

I sort of agree, but I actually like it when the Valar and Maiar are treated as very alien. Like, I like it when the elves are contrasted with humans and writers explore the fact that elves might have a very different way of thinking and of viewing the world - different from any human. And I like to think the Valar and Maiar are on a whole other level beyond that, not having flesh or a body naturally and not having been children and maybe not having the same relation to each other that elves and humans do.

I would love to see Melian in this capacity, where she's trying to be "elven" for Thingol and her connection to her makes her understand him better but every once in a while, she does something that is just eerie and unnerving. I'd also love if the narrative we get about the Valar and the Maiar being from the Noldor is played up; they wrote their understanding, but their understanding is deeply flawed. I'd also love more exploration of the proto-ainur in Lost Tales, like the war god and war goddess.

And, to make it even more interesting, I'd love to see more human/ainur interactions. Elves feel like they're right in the middle of the two. I wonder if humans could see the ainur more truly or if humans might be completely baffling to ainur. Anyway you do it would be interesting.

Basically, they are under-served characters and I would also love to read more about them (but not the bad guys).

Same. I was always going to love this game because Gold/Silver were my favourite games growing up, but the added factor of pokemon walking behind you makes it my favourite of the series. I wish they'd kept that mechanic for the other instalments.

I think a short series with Sakura and Syaoran after they reunite in middle school would be cute. I liked Tsubasa for the most part, but it took a pretty hard left turn after the Acid Tokyo arc and reading it started to turn into a chore. The ending really disappointed me.
