And the amount of times the Detective Anger Management beat suspects up, or forced confessions using techniques that even the guys at Gitmo would have balked at as being too abusive. If it weren't for the spontaneous public confession trope then not a single one of Elliot's cases would have got a conviction.

Yeah, I always hated that he kept behaving that way and the most he got was a slap on the wrist and a "you shouldn't do that" every 10-20 episodes (not nearly enough).
