(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 08:13 am (UTC)(link)I also just don't find that kind of cynicism all that realistic, and it bugs me because I think many people (often including the writers themselves) DO think it's realistic. Like, they genuinely believe everyone is weak, shitty and self-interested to the point of it being a pathology, and life is shitty, and if you live long enough you'll find that out. And I'm like...uh, no. Life is definitely not all sunshine and rainbows, and neither are people, but love, and beauty, and generosity, and strength are real things that are not actually that terribly rare.
