Re: Do you think depression can ruin you?

Depression can't ruin you. What it can do is drag you down, whisper lies, and convince you to do things to cut yourself off from the people who love you. It can convince you to walk into a cage and to then keep yourself in it.

This thing that you're thinking and feeling is part of the lie. It's part of how the depression sustains itself. Depression is kind of like a parasite, in that it feeds off of those who have it and will fight to retain its hold. Hard as it may seem, you've got to fight back.

When you're able to get free of the cage, you'll see that your hope was correct, and that it really is just a symptom.
