(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 01:43 am (UTC)(link)My main problem is actually that it's set in the 1920s, in which there was so much inventive slang, including nonsense words, that "no-maj" just seems too...boring. Like it's literally just "no magic" abbreviated, in a time period when America had phrases like "cash or check?" to refer to kissing. Just a liiiittle more inventive would have been nice.
