I still think it was best for the fic to stay in Mairon's POV, especially because he's the character I have the most firm headcanons about. So I knew what I thought he would be thinking, and plus he's very observant so it was possible for him to notice little reactions and realize what other characters were thinking. So I was actually able to make it broader than I would have if I'd written from the perspective of either of the other characters.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 01:43 am (UTC)(link)The summary for a story I'm too lazy to actually write:
(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 01:50 am (UTC)(link)Ahmed Gonzales, a left-winger employee of a coffee shop frequented by none other than Donald Trump, finds himself in quite a pickle when one day right in middle of his shift he suddenly remembers that he forgot to take his Omega heat-suppressents. Luckily Donald Trump who happens to be an Alpha, is there to save the day!
But what starts out as a one-night stand born of convenience soon develops into something more, causing much inner conflict in both parties. How will Trump come to terms with his growing affection for a man who embodies everything he stands against, a half-Arab half-Mexican socialist Muslim second-generation immigrant who fully intends to vote for Bernie Sanders? What will it mean for Trump's presidential campaign if news of his affair gets out?!

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 01:56 am (UTC)(link)here be lots of story rambling. TLDR ahoy
Well I've been reconstructing a lot of plans for one of my original things, and having so much fun with it. My big villain has become a more interesting antagonist now that she's no longer a complete monster, I think like her better this way.
It has me rethinking a lot of character stuff and asking myself if it's necessary or how else I can do it, or why I did it in the first place.
I'm really glad that for all my RP mistakes, roleplaying helped me see some character types and traits in practice and I got to see if they really work or not (some really didn't haha).
I've kept some aspects of the character's backstories but changed a lot of others that didn't fit. I used to be so shy about changing things I got attached to, but I'm getting more mellow about it now. I have AUs to thank for that, I can try different storylines and if I like something else, fit it in the main.
The prospect of crafting a new plot used to be frustrating and intimidating for me, which is why I put it off, but now it's exciting with all the plot and character possibilities I have open to me. All sorts of character combinations I never even considered.
Lately my newest writing song is "Try Everything" by Shakira from Zootopia. I listen to it with headphones now cause I'm sure the whole house will get tired of it soon if I blast it. But it's fun and has a good message.
(PS: "But your writing isn't even good!" I know, we all know, you've said it a dozen times already. I don't really feel insulted by it. If you want something to actually have any punch, try not repeating it incessantly for over a year. I'm not going to stop writing because you keep saying this. I don't do writing because I want people to think I'm a brilliant writer, I do it because I enjoy it.)

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 04:03 am (UTC)(link)36 Kudos? Holy Cats!
(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 04:33 am (UTC)(link)I'm not deluding myself that I've miraculously upped my game; the writing isn't any better than it usually is. But I somehow managed to hit the "sweet spot" of the characters' dynamic, it's a large fandom, and voila.
