She shouldn't have gone there with the Native American history at all, tbh. Who the fuck cares if people whined about not being included, in terms of the backlash this has caused? It's clear it would have been much better for her not to have gone there.

Now I'm just laughing at people wanking over the fact that she completely ignored the slave trade and black American culture in the rest of her American wizarding history, like are you kidding me? After what happened when she tried to include NA history, is there really a sane mind who thinks she would've risked stepping on that landmine?

Yep, the ironic thing is all the screaming and yelling at Rowling will achieve is that representation of the Indian will now probably take a backward step because people will decide to not even chance having them in their works.

Those people are lazy and selfish and probably never wanted to put real effort into research anyway.

If they're going to get screamed and shouted at whether or not they do research - because it's not like the Indians are a hive mind that get offended by all the exact same things - that seems like a damn good reason not to include them in anything, which has nothing to do with laziness or selfishness. Unless you're taking the stance that not wanting to be screamed at is somehow selfish, when that seems like a natural af desire. It galls me that there are still people whining about being ignored and not represented in things - hell, in JKR's creations in particular - right now, when this is the sort of shit that happens when it's tried. No one is going to want to try. People really need to start understanding that "appropriation!11!!" and "how dare you not represent us!1!" are not two stances that easily coexist.

Dude, that is a racist caricature. Some Indians do work hard and can be quite bright, when educated by whites.
