It's ancient history now, but I was definitely one of the only people to ship Price/Gaz. I'm like 90% sure it doesn't even exist in the fandom.

(Instead, the overwhelming majority of the fandom ships the two hottest guys who barely speak to one another because... looooooool, of course they do.)

COD shippping/fanfic has to be the tinniest fandom.

What was the focus/demographics like, excluding the thirteen year old boys writing OC power fantasies I imagine make up 99% of it.

It featured a surprising (?) number of active duty servicemen and women, who were largely teenagers, and the slash was 90% Soap/Ghost. The other 10% was MacMillan/Price (in the past, of course, because ew, old guys amirite) and the rare Makarov/Yuri and Soap/Roach. Of the non-slash, it was a healthy mixture of various teenaged boys writing about how their unit somehow ran into the 141 on an operation and of course they were asked to join it and saved the day and became the awesomest and coolest, and various teenaged girls who wrote more or less exactly the same story but with Soap or Ghost falling in love with them at the end. MW2 was where the series got tremendously popular, but I started with CoD4, so I'll always be gay for Price's moustache instead.

And it's not actually that small, there was even doujinshi of it in Japan. Some of it drawn by men! Because, bara. It's definitely dwindled after the days of the MW series, though.

Now small would be, like, Metro 2033 fandom, or FEAR, or one of the other video game fandoms I've written fic for that roughly three other people have read.
