I was born in the mid-80s, and for me, the entire reason I've never read the Harry Potter books is that they came out DIRECTLY after my favorite book series ended, seemingly forever. Those books had also taken place at a school and also (sometimes) involved witches and other supernatural elements and I just felt like I'd already had my version. I'd had my "fun" in that type of a literary environment, and felt it was time to move on.

After all this time though, things like Harry Potter just don't interest me. Turns out I don't like much of the fantasy genre (I'm not a LOTR or GoT fan either.) Doesn't matter what age group it's directed at, it's just not for me.

What series did you read?

AYRT - Fear Street

I'm exactly the same. Don't care for stuff like HP, LOTR or GoT, and people look at me like I have three eyes.
