Yes! A lot of Shakespeare's plays were commissions and he wrote politically a good deal.

Macbeth is my second favorite! (Henry IV Part I will always have my heart.) I haven't read it in a class setting since high school--almost ten years!--and I'm super jazzed. I always imagine it staged, in my head, as a kind of bleak postwar Easton European power struggle. Not sure why. :P

I just really love Shakespeare. The Collected Works sits beside my Collected Works of Poe, and both are well worn.
