Re: Anime/manga talk

Fittingly I just finished Hunter x Hunter (2011 version) a few days ago. I've got to say, without a doubt the best shounen series, with maybe Soul Eater coming even vaguely close. It knows what it's doing, and does it particularly well.

Just ordered the latest volume of Ajin, hoping it will make up for the let down of the anime series. It's not really bad per se, it's just CGI isn't quite there yet though it's improved by leaps and bounds, and a lot of the scenes were just not subtle as good as the manga.

Catching up with

- Dimesion W: Nothing has quite matched up to Episode 2, everything is weaker than the beginning. Shame really.
- Active Raid. Biggest disappointment of the season, and apart from some pretty hot MC, it's bad in most respects, but hell I've started it so I'll finish it.
- Heavy Object: This is what Active Riad should have been. It's rare to find an anime that is just bros being bros and having an absolute blast about it. It's not good, but it's fun.
- Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: Still excellent.
- Schwarzenmarken: No Total Eclipse, but enjoying the ride, and wish we got more anime at least nominally set pre fall of the Berlin Wall with all the backstabbing and intrigue.
- A few other things I'm pottering along with from my backlog, nothing super memorable.

==Next Season==
- Bakuon!!: Cute girls obsessed with motorbikes. Absolutely my moe choice of the season.
- Koutetsujou no Kabaneri: Sold at the next SnK. Looks like a decent action anime.
- Bungou Stray Dogs: Detective Agencies focused on the supernatural. Hits some of my favorite concepts.
