Re: Tattoo thread

I have such love for Bucky that is so often overshadowed by the fact that his fandom can be so....Much. But he's gr8. So go forth and be Bucky related. :P
Also, Bucky is my kid brother's family nickname, so I have a fondness c:

You're sweet! I don't mind scars so much--one is just from an unfortunately source (a dude) and one is just very big and kind of takes over my mouth. I'm told people who didn't know me before I had it would never even know it was a scar, and since I got it when I was 12, that's most people I interact with, but still.

Invasive question you're free to ignore, since I'm a stranger asking a pesky question: what about your arm? (I love tattoos and am dreaming of Bucky-ish ones and incorporating scars, lol)

See, but that's sort of what I'm worried about. The fandom is so...much. And I'm sort of...more of an introverted person, and I'm not sure I quite want to wear everything on my sleeve, quite literally!

I've never met a Bucky, it's just not really a name here, and even after years of fandom I think it would still be weird for me to call someone that. But cool it's actually your brother's nickname.

Ah yes, I understand unfortunate sources...in that case they can be unfortunate memento's. i don't really know how to imagine the mouth scar, though I do know mouth scars tend to make me focus on someone's lips more...which, is not alwas a bad thing.

As for your last question: I used to self-harm. Which is also blatantly obvious by the nature of the scars. Really, they can only be one of two things: self-harm scars or self-defense scars - because people don't really randomly get dagger marks on them from accidents. Which, obviously, being on the internet, you can't know, I mentioned it - so it's totally okay to ask.
However, with strangers, it's just weird There's just literally NO WAY that conversation can go anywhere good. It's like "hello strange person, I don't know you, but seemingly you would like to have an conversation about my past and my inner demons and this is sort of awkward." And it's not even like I'm not capable of having that conversation in a normal way (preferably after you buy me booze), it's just time and place, I guess.

edit: as for incorporation: I'm pretty sure the whole "plating" effect would sort of fit with the scars, so there's a bonus.

I was home for thanksgiving right after the first Civil War trailer dropped, and every time my mom would call "Bucky!" I'd be like BUCKY :P

Yeah fandom is so...fickle. There's lots of things I wouldn't mind bearing on my (literal) sleeve if the works existed in a vacuum, but attach a fandom to them and I'm not sure I want to align myself, lol

For a mouth scar: picture a big dip in the middle of an upper lip, down towards the lower one. Almost like a weirdly exaggerated Clara Bow lip. That was courtesy of a curb I smashed right into, face first, at age 12. The other one is just a raised little scar in the corner of my lower lip, courtesy of a less than courteous sex buddy :P

I have SH scars too, and want to cover some (see my comment about Rosie the Riveter, below). If I tried to cover all of them it would probably be *more* uncomfortable to me ("what a place for a tattoo, why'd you..."), but at least some of them I'd like to transform for my own purposes.

I feel like there's ways to *reference* Bucky or his arm without going all out. Maybe cover some of the scars with slats a la his metal arm, but without doing a whole sleeve? HMMM

Edit: for clarity, when I say "slats" I mean the plating effect on Bucky's arm :)

Slats could work, yeah, the only worry there is basically bringing more attention to certain area's! Strangely, I asked my bf, and he'd even be cool with the sleeve, so, it really is sort of up to my judgement.

I suppose it would depend on how they were/how they were colored/where exactly they were, but I feel like they could pretty effectively hide or conceal the scars (obviously also depends on the nature of the scars).

Lol I'm always coming up with new tattoo ideas and pestering the gf, who has virtually no opinion on the matter. Like, nooooo, make decisions for me! :P

My pre-Bucky idea was actually a sort of very delicate lace-like design in white ink.

Something like this but denser (and eah considered the gem implants, too) http://www.tattoo.com/sites/default/files/u8050/white-ink-tattoos-8.jpg Though that's maybe a bit too floral.

More like this,I guess, but more on the lower arm: http://www.cuded.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/30-White-ink-tattoo.jpg

I'm literally holding my face looking at these, they're GORGEOUS! I love white ink and the scarification/lace look it gives!! I've considered getting a white ink cross on one of my hands (I have a....OCD/superstition thing about having a cross on me while traveling; I'm not super religious but religion is a big part of my life and family, and the last time I traveled without a cross on me I was on a very small plane that almost crashed, so.....yeah), because it could be pretty ornate and beautiful and maybe not super ostentatious. I've also considered expanding my Saturn tattoo into a whole solar system, but with white ink.

I think those patterns are gorgeous!!

They are quite lovely, aren't they? I do have a slight reluctance to permanence (which is why I've always been more a piercing girl), but this might just be subtle enough for me.)

See I only have my ears pierced, lol

They're gorgeous, tho. I love them!
