I've always liked the name Hermione, which 1) is totally associated with Harry Potter and people would make assumptions and 2) I would end up being That Asshole who would always be like "ACTUALLY, I named her Hermione after the protagonist of H.D.'s series of autobiographical novels."

Hermione is a beautiful name, but yeah, people would assume it's after HP and either gush about it or judge you for it. And honestly I couldn't name a kid Hermione without feeling like it is to an extent after HP because Hermione the character is so awesome :P

I would always tell people that I named my cat for this lady, Hermione Gingold (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0320006/?ref_=fn_al_nm_4). Wonderful actress and one I remember fondly from my childhood in front of the glowscreen babysitter...

when I was a kid there was a giraffe named Hermione in a TV show I liked (this was way before Harry Potter books existed) so I tend to associate the name in that context.
