I'm less of an asshole online because I have more time to think about what I'm saying, and less likely to be annoyed by what's being said because of the remoteness of it all. You can't just shut out real people and go read a funny webcomic (well, not without some social repurcussions).

I don't really post anywhere anonymously, so I can't say whether it makes a difference or not.
