I had to stare at that image for way too long before I realised it wasn't someone's ass...

But as far as the secret goes I sort of agree, like I don't think they're the worst parents in the world but I do tend to think they're not really thinking about the kid if they give them some really out-there character name.

That being said there are character names that can totally work as regular names, my oldest niece is named after a GoT character but because it's a name that exists irl it works.

TBH I keep thinking "Aradia" (from Homestuck) would be a really pretty name. Thank goodness I'm not planning on having children, I had enough trouble with my somehow-incomprehensible-even-though-its-completely-phonetic ethnic name, I would NOT wish a fandom name on a child.

I think that's quite pretty but yeah, kids can be assholes even with names that aren't even weird or hard to say.

I do think naming a pet that would be very neat though(and hell my brain is thinking that it's a really nice name for a WoW toon :P).

nayrt but I don't read Homestuck, and I wouldn't assume it was a fandom name if I heard it? I mean, if I hear and unusual name I don't know, I won't assume fandom, I'll assume parents either tried to pick a ~super special~ name, or dug back into family history and picked an older name, or maybe a foreign name.

I don't think most people would assume fandom unless the character in question is ultra famous.

Not to be a smartass, but the name Aradia is actually from Italian folklore and is nowadays pretty often used in neopagan religions (Wicca etc).

Now that I think about it, it's probably an even better reason to not name a kid Aradia. If the kid ever meets an actual Wiccan... might be awkward. ^^
