Lord of the Rings names had a vogue with hippies in the late 60s and early 70s (my generation). I went to college with an Arwen who really liked her name and was proud of it. Second generation fan nerd. I also had a friend whose middle name was Nichelle, after Nichelle Nichols - second generation Black SF fan - she was proud of it too.

Arwen is a rather normal Welsh name, though, if I remember correctly.
