The FBI legitimately monitor 4chan.

There are people getting paid on the clock to trawl through that site.

I can't express how much it tickles me to think that there's a fucking team of feds whose sole job it is to monitor traffic and discussions on 4chan - a group of professionals, people who spent years at the academy studying and preparing for a career in the intelligence community, men and women who probably dreamed of catching serial killers, bringing down criminal syndicates, busting corrupt politicians, and protecting the country from the threat of terrorism.

Instead they get stuck filing reports on shitposting trends and dank memes.

I like to imagine the 4chan Task Force is like a form of punishment for people who fuck up serious cases, and is just full of bitter old agents who botched drug busts or got informants killed... but then there's that one guy in the group who's like Agent Mulder - the true believer who takes all this shit super seriously. He's got like a big corkboard behind his desk with little screencaps and image macros connected by bits of string and shit, and a big poster that says "Take The Red Pill".

This would make a great TV show.

Something about that absolutely tickles me pink. That's wonderful. I hope whoever it is monitoring it has a legitimate favourite board that doesn't cause trouble that they actually quite like browsing and try to pretend like they spend a lot of time there because it's troublesome.

Just... imagine someone walking in on you browsing /y/ and you having the completely legit excuse to go "Oh this is for work!".
