PIV sex is painful for me IRL, too, and I don't enjoy it.

Yet somehow, the rougher and more painful PIV sex is in fic, the more it turns me on. Even better if it's rough het anal.

There's not enough het anal in the fandoms I like, I swear.

Have you talked to anybody about your issue OP? I haven't, but I'm pretty sure I have a mild form of vaginismus or some other part psychological overactive nerve system thing.

I've been diagnosed with dyspareunia. I have other issues I have to deal with first, but eventually I'll be doing some therapy stuff that will hopefully help.

Was the diagnosis hard to get? And is the prognosis hopeful? Those are the two main reasons I've been putting off seeing someone about it...

Well, considering when the gynecologist tried to examine me, I couldn't even handle her touching me, I don't think it was that difficult for her to diagnose.

She originally told me it was oversensitive nerves, but then she put that diagnosis in my file. I need to do more research on what it means before I go to see her again. I don't know yet if it is entirely treatable or not. We'll see.

Also, don't be afraid to get a second opinion. "Dyspareunia" is mostly an umbrella term covering ANYTHING that makes vaginal penetration painful, so finding out what the actual underlying cause is would be an important first step. Bear in mind, this is an area where large new discoveries in GROSS ANATOMY were made in 1998 and 2002; that's how bad traditional medicine has been about the ladybits. (And no, that's not advocating "alternative medicine", just acknowledging the large pussy-shaped blind spot that's still being worked out.)

I'm a bit different. I'm asexual, but I do have a libido. I have het/gay/lesbian ships, but I only read/watch gay porn (fluff for everyone tho), because there is no vagina in it to make my brain see myself in that position- if that makes sense?

This is true for me too. No sex yet, but even tampons or just touching myself is physically painful.

I actually really like PiV sex in fic even though I suffer from the same problem if the woman is really super into it. Same way I love reading about women receiving cunnilingus even though I don't care for it in real life. It seems extra enticing to me because I can't have that kind of pleasure in real life, for some reason.

I'd recommend having a doctor check you out though, OP. You might have bacterial vaginosis, a very common infection that can make things super painful down there.

Hmmn. I'm actually the opposite way. I really love reading slash ships too, but I confess I have a thing for cis guy/trans guy where the trans guy is non-op. Although I do also have something wrong with me. I have health issues that have taken precedent though, but I have, and it's only around the ring/entrance of my vagina, where it feels like...pinchy and burny if I try to insert anything wider than a finger, maybe two. The problem is, I've managed to "force" (kind of just really endure the burning/pinching feeling) inflatable plugs in there before and if we're just talking internal stimulation? I really like it. I'm just nervous to talk to someone about it. Honestly it feels like if they numbed the area or even surgically removed little bits with the overactive nerves (it feels almost burning like in the way a UTI feels) I'd be completely fine. But you know how shitty doctors can be about that stuff. :/

I have the same issue. I also can't read het sex because I absolutely despise sexualizing women, and I hate that they're almost always submissive.

People need to realize there are a variety of reasons why women gravitate to slash beyond "internalized misogyny".
