PIV sex is also painful for me, but fantasizing about PIV isn't a problem for me.

Have you talked to anybody about your issue OP? I haven't, but I'm pretty sure I have a mild form of vaginismus or some other part psychological overactive nerve system thing.

I've been diagnosed with dyspareunia. I have other issues I have to deal with first, but eventually I'll be doing some therapy stuff that will hopefully help.

Was the diagnosis hard to get? And is the prognosis hopeful? Those are the two main reasons I've been putting off seeing someone about it...

Also, good luck with your therapy/ dealing with things!

Well, considering when the gynecologist tried to examine me, I couldn't even handle her touching me, I don't think it was that difficult for her to diagnose.

She originally told me it was oversensitive nerves, but then she put that diagnosis in my file. I need to do more research on what it means before I go to see her again. I don't know yet if it is entirely treatable or not. We'll see.

Also, don't be afraid to get a second opinion. "Dyspareunia" is mostly an umbrella term covering ANYTHING that makes vaginal penetration painful, so finding out what the actual underlying cause is would be an important first step. Bear in mind, this is an area where large new discoveries in GROSS ANATOMY were made in 1998 and 2002; that's how bad traditional medicine has been about the ladybits. (And no, that's not advocating "alternative medicine", just acknowledging the large pussy-shaped blind spot that's still being worked out.)

The OP mentions that her first time really sucked, but not if she's tried it again since. My first dozen or so times REALLY REALLY SUCKED, but it's gotten better over time and experience. As far as any gyno has been able to tell me, it's just that my lady bits are built a bit crooked and I'm a petite woman and I don't really lube up naturally. They make estrogen creams and stuff that can supposedly help with elasticity and stuff but I don't feel like throwing extra hormones at my body for something that isn't that important to me. It's at the point where I can enjoy it most of the time, even though it isn't as easy for me as it seems to be for most vagina-havers.

btw if you do use lube check the ingredients to make sure you aren't sensitive or allergic to anything. I made this mistake early on after I convinced my first horrible sex partner that my need for lube didn't have to damage his man-ego and everything still hurt.

Also, LOL at the commenter saying that this secret is TMI. Sure it's okay if like, Sherlock Holmes is getting knotted up with alpha dongs or whatever, but you had REAL LIFE sex with a PERSON? Oh my god, ew.
