European intelligence and police have at least two major problems:

1) Territorial pissing matches. Intel isn't shared enough even between different branches of the same country.

2) Political correctness and politics in general. The ruling parties don't want to hand ammunition to the opposition, so they deny and deny that the current situation with the migrants (current and past) has blown up on their faces. This leads to not enough support and funding for the police.

It's a dump, but it was even before all those immigrants turned up. I was telling my mate Og all about it the other day and he had the gaul to say that some of those motherfucking Celts were spiritually enriching the place. I told him to stick to his beakers, proper beakers for Beaker Folk that's what we've always done here. Next thing you know he'd be going soft on the bloody Saxons or Normans and then they'd be over here stealing our women, sleeping with our sheep. Fuck the lot of them, that's what I say. 1) Is absolutely true.

2) Is a bit more complicated. It's not political correctness per se - I think it has to do with making sure you remain elected (which is different in a multi-part system). I think mistakes HAVE happened with policies on immigration - but i don't thing allowing immigration was the issue, but the utter lack of effort to actually help people integrate.

Now, perhaps. But historically, it has certainly been the case. Hell, in the beginning nobody even thought of trying to integrate people because it was assumed they'd go back.
