How did you feel about Morgan's exit? Do you want to see another character like him replace him (i.e. a door-kicker) or not have anyone else or something else?

I cried so hard at the goodbye scenes. Especially the one between him and Reid. Holy shit, that one about killed me. The choice of name for Morgan's son was so freaking sweet, and it was great that he and Reid got to express how much they love each other as brothers and friends. I also loved the last scene between Morgan and Garcia. She remained more composed than I thought she might, but still, it was bittersweet to see them say goodbye. Watching her answer the phone from here on out and knowing that Morgan won't be there to banter with her is going to be so freaking weird, and I'm already feeling for her with that.

I liked the episode as a whole. The case involving Montolo's dad seemed kind of random-I get it was meant to connect to Morgan's own feelings and concerns about fatherhood, but given the intense buildup with the episode where he was held captive, and that gang that had kidnapped him, it just feels like that kinda got glossed over in some ways in the end, like they should've lasted longer and been more involved in the threat to Morgan's family and his life here or something. But I still enjoyed the intensity of the case itself, and liked the way they brought in nods to Foyet throughout (and Hankel as well, with the unsub playing Russian Roulette with him). It was also great to see the way the team rallied to help him, and the various ways they were impacted by this case and their concern for Morgan as well. The end quote echoing Emily's parting words when she left the team was a sweet touch as well.

And of course, I'm glad he AND his family made it out okay. Rather nice to have one male team member whose significant other wasn't killed off, and knowing he's going off to a happy life with them helps make his goodbye a little easier to deal with. Leaves the door open in case Morgan ever wants to visit again (which, from interviews I've read with Shemar the last few days, he's all for whenever the opportunity arises, so yay for that :)).

I am going to miss him, though, for sure, as well as his friendships with Reid and Garcia in particular. Ultimately, I think, depending on how much longer the show lasts, if they do add another regular team member, it'd be nice if they could just bring back someone we're already familiar with, instead of get someone new yet again.

That said, I also read the show's considering the idea of just bringing random team members in to consult on cases, or they could do another recurring character like Tara. If they do that, then bringing a new person in could work, 'cause they're there, but not overshadowing the rest of the team.

Ultimately, though, I'd prefer they just stick with who they've got now and leave it at that. We've seen the team manage to work without a full seven members on board before, so I think they could make it work again. I think a lot of what they decide will be determined by how much longer the show stays on the air, though. If they get a couple more seasons or so, I could see them bringing in someone new or a past team member rejoining the team. If next season is their last one, then I'd imagine they'll just stick with the remaining team members, since it'd be pointless to bring in a new person when the show's ending.
