I accidentally became a BNF (or at least a medium one) in a small fandom.
It was a case of right place at the right time rather than any exceptional talent. Now I am writing a fic that runs counter to the ethos of the show.

Before my unexpected rise, I wanted to write it to see whether I could sell this premise to the skeptics. Now I am tempted to write OOC fluff and lower people's expectations of my writing.
(I won't. I know I won't. I have too much respect for the amazing readers and writers in the fandom, and too much pride. But I am tempted.)

I like writing fic more than I like reading it. It's not an arrogance thing, it's not because I think my fic is so OMG BEST there is nothing better, but the fun in fanfic really is in the writing and sharing for me. I like writing my favorite things. And while I love comments and attention as much as the next writer, I consider them a bonus and I don't expect them.
I wish people would stop gifting me fic without asking. I know it's meant as a nice gesture, but it's like they're giving me homework, when fanfic isn't even my 5th favorite thing to read. I write fic because it gives me the opportunity to create the exact scenarios I want, and I don't have a desire to read anyone else's (or if I do, I'll seek them out by myself.)
I feel like there is no way to make this not sound asshole-ish though,
so here's a secret.
PS I know this is a silly problem to have.

I also think a lot of people don't understand how RT works. It's not "Is this movie 99% or 30% good", it's the % of this small amount of critics who liked it.

And even then, it's the site itself that gives the fresh or rotten rating for most of the reviews - some may border upon good and get hit at will.

As of episode 2 of this season of Rupauls Drag Race, I can safely say that I have never related to a reality TV contestant the way I relate to Kim Chi. Everything about her personality and personal history revealed to date - down to her being a virgin - hits so close to home.

And, suddenly, I understand why people can get so invested in reality TV contestants. In the past, my reality TV picks, if I had any at all, were just whoever I thought was most talented, or most unique, or least asshole-y - stuff like that. On RPDR especially, my favorite queen would change episode to episode, challenge to challenge, based on what they presented at that juncture, not who they were as a person. My other favorites on this season of RPDR follow this random fluctuation, but I feel invested in Kim Chi.

Hahaha, a KI secret!

tbh, my KI ships are ARIA/Fulgore, TJ/Orchid (albeit platonically), and -for a crack ship- Sabrewulf/Glacius thanks to Classic KI2. But I guess the nice part about KI's story being so loose is that you could really do anything you want with it at this point.

(Although in terms of outsassing? I could see Kim Wu and Cinder in such a match, if Kim's trailer counts for anything)

Can they fucking kill this asshole already? I used to be indifferent to him but now I can't stand him. I hate the Lizzie's preggers storyline, partly because HE is involved. I want Tom Keen to go away, forever, probably as much as Raymond Reddington does. I hope the "Red"* wedding they're advertising for The Blacklist ends more like the GOT Purple Wedding in that the groom ends up dead. But knowing my luck, it won't.

*Yes, I know they're using Red wedding as a play on Reddington's nickname.
