How to find someone to commission?

I want to get a WoW tattoo of some sort. But I'd like to get a unique one designs to some particular parameters. How can I go about finding an artist with knowledge of WoW to commission a design?

What is the protocol for commissioning artwork (how do I determine price, what if the finished product is subpar or not what I asked for, etc.).

There are a ton of artists on tumblr and dA that take commissions.

If you can be more specific about what you're looking for -- lineart? color? faction or class logo? realistic portrait? character caricature? -- I can recommend some that I know ( and suggest some blogs that you can follow to scoop up more names).

Hrm. Well, it is a tattoo. I'd like something that can combine at least two of these things: Horde, Undead/Forsaken, Warlock. Lineart could work but I'd prefer with color so I have options when getting it done.

edit to add: I'd like to be symmetrical and not a character.

do you follow either lobstermourne or Korkrunchcereal? They might be able to rec someone if yu send them an ask.

(also try mipeltaja-art.tumblr.com; I've commissioned from them in the past, and they've done art for several of my stories.)

Oh, yeah. The named user gets directed to a specific artist, I ask for directions to one I get given sarcasm about searching through the pile of shit dead accounts that is DevArt. You fucking suck.

Anyhow, after talking to a few artists who've done tattoo designs, the advice I've been hearing is that ideally, the best thing to do is to take in reference pics and let your inker decide what would look best for the location and size.
