I'm sorry, anon. I think it always takes time to find the voice of characters. My first few fics in my fandom were not that great. I've slowly developed headcanons for the characters (the canon leaves a lot of room for exploration and different interpretations), and that has made writing them easier.

I hope inspiration strikes you and you are able to enjoy writing.

Thanks. It takes me a while to build my headcanon too. Especially where relationship dynamics are concerned. Is the fandom you're referring too LOTR? You have definitely got a lot of canon to work with there.

More Silmarillion, but yes. There is a lot of room. I started writing right when I joined the fandom, and I hadn't figured out the characters for myself yet. Like, my take on Sauron in my first fic is pretty different from how I see him now.
