I really, really hate trailers nowadays. They give way too much away.

I try my best not to watch too many trailers if I can help it. The only thing that sucks is when I go to the theatres and then I am forced to sit through a trailer that reveals too much.

Also, I like to stay away from all those fan videos that review trailers or theorize what's going to happen in an upcoming highly anticipated film. I kept a relative distance to Star Wars: The Force Awakens before it came out, because I didn't want to get too hyped for it. You just set yourself up for disappointment if you start having too many expectations.

I love trailers. I don't mind being spoiled at all. It never ruins the movie experience for me to know what is going to happen.

They all have those repeated loud, unsettling noises like some kind of klaxon going off designed to get everyone's heart beating a little faster so we all think "So exciting!" It's way overused.

But I'd love to see someone make a new trailer for, say, Casablanca in the style of a modern trailer using that noise.

Do you mean the thing that the Inception trailer popularized? If so, I agree so much.

That was an Inception trailer impression btw, not a 'wah wah wah' thing.

When the Russell Crowe Robin Hood came out, I really wanted to try making a Prince of Thieves trailer in the new one's style. Never did though and now it's too late.

I don't even watch the "coming next week" previews on television shows, as they often give too much away for me. If I want to know how the movie/show is after knowing everything, I can always rewatch. I can never have a first experience of not knowing anything and watching it unfold if I'm spoiled. So I like to be as unspoiled as possible for everything. So, yes, I'm very with you and wish they wouldn't do that.

Not if you watched Mad Men!

I tried. I couldn't get into it. Are you saying they were good about not giving away stuff in their "what is happening next week" blurbs at the end of episodes?

+! yes, exactly! My husband loves watching trailers and getting psyched up for what to expect, but I infinitely prefer that first experience of not knowing and watching everything unfold (as it was intended to be watched!!). So glad I'm not alone in this. :D

I'm also glad I'm not alone. As I often feel like I am, what with so many people loving being spoiled and so many people not even wanting to tag because it obviously isn't a big deal if people know what is going to happen.

Yes, especially what you mentioned about the television previews - other people make fun of me when I scramble to turn off the tv/sound when the preview plays at the end of the episode, but I totally count that as a spoiler!! *fistbump of solidarity*

My most watched tv channel is the movie trailer one ;) I find the bigger the picture the more they give away. The less known or more subtle ones are better.
